Ephesians 6:14-17

“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God…”

  • Pause: Sit quietly for one minute and breathe deeply. Ask the Holy Spirit to calm your mind so you can hear from Him.
  • Reflect: Read this passage slowly two or three times. Allow God’s Word to speak to you.
  • Ask: Read the passage again and ask God to highlight a particular word or phrase.
  • Yield: Return to the passage once more, but this time personalize it by using the first person singular as if you were speaking this passage. Take a moment to pray about anything God brings to mind with an open heart and mind to hear God’s voice and yield to His will.
