Day 32

Week 5 Day 32: Breakthrough in Deliverance
Colossians 1:13
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son”
We serve a God who is not only a Savior but also a Deliverer. Throughout Scripture, we see the heart of God to rescue His people from bondage and bring them into freedom. From the Israelites being delivered from slavery in Egypt, to David being rescued from his enemies, to Jesus setting people free from sin, sickness, and demonic oppression.
Deliverance is at the very heart of Jesus’ ministry. He came to set captives free, heal the brokenhearted, and destroy the works of the enemy. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus won the ultimate victory over sin, death, and the powers of darkness. As believers, we do not fight for victory but rather we stand in the victory Christ has already won.
Deliverance is not simply about being rescued from something but is about being brought into something greater. God does not just remove chains; he invites us into freedom, identity, healing, and deeper relationship with Him.
Yet even as followers of Jesus, there can be areas of our lives where we need breakthrough and deliverance. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy by bringing deception, fear, accusation, temptation, and oppression. Sometimes we experience bondage because of sinful patterns, wounds, unforgiveness, or lies we have believed. Other times, there may be spiritual opposition that requires us to exercise the authority Jesus has given us.
The good news is that Jesus has not left us powerless. He has given His followers authority in His name. We are called to resist the enemy, stand firm in faith, and submit ourselves to God. There are times when deliverance involves a simple surrender of our hearts to God, but there are also times when breakthrough comes through prayer and standing in the authority of Jesus and commanding the enemy to leave.
But deliverance is also God’s rescue in the everyday battles of life. God cares about the troubles we face: financial hardship, career challenges, difficult relationships, family conflicts, emotional burdens, and situations where we feel trapped or without a way forward. Nothing is outside of His concern or beyond His power.
Sometimes God delivers us by removing the obstacle completely. He can open doors that no person can shut, bring justice where there is injustice, restore relationships, provide unexpected opportunities, and bring healing where there is brokenness.
But sometimes deliverance looks different than we expect. God does not always remove the trial immediately. Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were delivered through the fire, not from entering the fire. Daniel was delivered in the lions’ den, not before facing it. Even when God does not change the circumstance right away, He is still delivering us. He delivers us from fear by giving us peace. He delivers us from hopelessness by reminding us of His promises. He delivers us from defeat by giving us strength to persevere.
As we fast and pray for breakthrough, we can boldly bring every need before our Deliverer. We can ask Him to move mountains, open doors, bring justice, heal what is broken, and set us free, while trusting that whether He delivers us from the trial or carries us through it, He is faithful and He is with us.
The greatest deliverance has already been accomplished through Jesus. We have been rescued from darkness, forgiven of sin, adopted as God’s children, and given the promise that He will never leave us. Because He is with us, we can face every battle with hope and confidence.
Listening Prayer: Holy Spirit, what do you want to set me free from today? Is there anything I need to surrender, renounce, or bring under the authority of Jesus so that I can walk more fully in Your freedom?
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that You are my Deliverer. Thank You that You hear me when I cry out to You and that no situation is beyond Your power. Thank You that through Jesus, I have been rescued from darkness and brought into Your kingdom. Today I invite the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of my life where I am still walking in bondage. Give me courage to surrender those places to You and receive the freedom You desire for me.
Lord, I bring my circumstances before You. I ask You to move where I need breakthrough. Open doors, restore what is broken, provide what is needed, and bring freedom from every area that keeps me bound. Help me remember that even when You do not remove the battle, You are with me in the middle of it.
Holy Spirit, reveal anything I need to surrender to You. Show me where I need to repent, forgive, let go, or stand firm in the authority of Jesus. Heavenly Father, I renounce every agreement with the enemy and reject anything that does not align with Your truth. Jesus, I fully submit to You and depend on You as my Deliverer. Teach me to stand firm, resist the enemy, and walk daily in the freedom Jesus purchased for me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Psalm 91:14-15
Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.
