Agape International Missions

AIM was founded in Cambodia in 1988 as a humanitarian aid organization. Since 2005, AIM has focused on ending the evil of sex trafficking through a holistic model of prevention, rescue, rehabilitation, and restoration. Bridgeway has sent teams to travel to Cambodia to show the love of God to the girls who are rescued out of sex trafficking, tour the AIM buildings, pray for the girls, and much more. They use holistic practices to share with youth, young adults, and families across the region. Other programs they offer include cooking classes, art clubs, story hours, learning gardening skills, providing community development, simple jobs on-site and in the community, and investing in the young people who are eager to learn and grow in many ways. Bridgeway is partnering with Books and More by donating books and supplies for their library, and looking forward to sending teams when possible. FAQs

Have questions about missions? Start here!

Does involvement in Global Missions just mean traveling overseas to serve?

No! We need people to pray for our partners, to pray for the teams going out to serve, we need people to help us with fundraising and gathering supplies for the trips, and for those who feel called, we need people to financially support the teams. There are so many ways to get involved in global missions at Bridgeway, and not all of them require you to travel!

What is the commitment to join a mission trip?

Deciding to participate in a mission trip is a commitment that requires time, energy, and effort. You will be required to participate in training (at least 6 meetings with your team before travel) to ensure you are prepared for cross-cultural ministry, fundraising the full amount required to go, traveling with your team and serving for the full 1-2 weeks in country, and finally, participating in an intentional debrief when you return to the US.

I’ve never been on a mission trip before, and I want to go, but I don’t know where to start.

Amazing! We have several trips we offer for people with varying levels of international and missions experience, and we’ll help you figure out which one is right for you. If you enter with an open heart and a flexible spirit willing to serve in any way that is asked of you, you will have plenty of opportunities.

Do I need to speak the language of the country I am serving in?

Nope, although it always helps if you do! All of our trips will have access to translators, so you will be able to navigate the country and communicate with our partners. However, we do encourage all of our participants to at least start learning basic phrases in the local language to make an effort to communicate with our partners and those we are going to serve.

I have experience in a specific field (i.e., medical, education, construction, admin, arts, tech, etc.). Can I use my skills for my global missions?

Of course! There is a wide variety of needs across our various partnerships, and we always need people with special skills to come serve cross-culturally. Let us know how you are gifted, and we will make sure you get to use those gifts to partner in God’s mission.

Are trips open to families and students, or only adults?

Both! Some of our trips are limited to only adult participation, but several are open to students and people of all ages, allowing you to serve together as a family. Look out for upcoming trips that are described as “family-friendly” to find opportunities where your kids can serve alongside you as well.
