When God made you, He put together a unique combination of gifts, talents, personality traits, and genetics shared with no one else. Everything he placed inside of you gives us a unique glimpse into the image of God. Who he is always stands true. And so is how he sees us. We may not be walking in the identity he calls us to, but that doesn’t make it any less true. As his children we can walk in his callings, fulfill his purposes, and operate in his gifts and authority because it is our inheritance. You are one of God’s best ideas. He created you to be alive during this time in the earth because we need you and all that you are. Your gifts and talents matter. Your unique abilities and creativity were made for this time and season. You are deeply loved and desired by God. He wants you to know that in the depths of your being. He wants you to see yourself the way he sees you. When we see ourselves the way God sees us, we are satisfied with who we are and what we were made to do. When we know who God calls us, we are happy to be and do what God has for us and not want what he has for someone else.

We can ask God to show us how he sees us and what he has placed inside of us. We can rise up and walk in who God says we are and move in great faith. He desires to show and teach us how to operate in what he has given us and called us to do. He loves us and delights in us more than we can even imagine!

Read: Psalm 139

Right now, God is calling us to walk confidently in the identities he has given us. He is taking our chins in his hand and asking us to keep our gaze firmly on him, rejecting all lies and distractions the enemy throws your way. He is giving us hearts of faith to trust and move in him.

Our identities are so valuable. If they weren’t, the enemy wouldn’t work so hard to derail us. I can’t encourage you enough to stay rooted in God’s word and what it says about who we are as his children. Meditate on who God is. Tether yourself to him. God’s word is truth and dispels the lies the enemy has spoken against us. How do we know when we are believing a lie? The voice of God is always filtered through love. The enemy’s voice is accusing, filled with criticism, guilt, accusations, and shame. God wants to set you free from any lies you have believed about yourself and exchange them for the truth about you.

Listening Prayer 1: Ask the Holy Spirit to bring to mind any lies you have believed about yourself. Write them down.

Heavenly Father, I confess there are areas in my life where I have believed lies about myself. Some lies were from myself, some were from others, and some were from the enemy. I choose to forgive myself and others for putting those lies on me. where you have belittled or criticized. In the name and by the blood of Jesus, I renounce those lies that I am _________________ (say the lies you have believed).

Listening Prayer 2: Holy Spirit, I ask you now to show me the truth of who I am and how you have made me. Show me the gifts you have put inside me.

Listen to his response and write down the truths.

Heavenly Father, I choose to embrace the truths you revealed about me that I am______________(say what he revealed to you).  I thank you that I am made in your image, and I am fearfully and wonderfully made. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Further Prayer: Meditate on and pray through the verses on identity and proclaim them over your life.
