Hebrews 10:24-25

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

There is so much power in the family of believers gathering together with a unified purpose. Worship, Prayer, and Healing (WPH) Night is just one example of this. One cannot begin to describe the beauty and movement of the Holy Spirit when His church comes together to seek His presence.

There are many obedient, God-fearing individuals who have partnered with the Holy Spirit in casting the vision, preparing, and executing WPH Night. All of these individuals need a covering of prayer. The team of pastors, prayer warriors, worship musicians, and every attendee needs our intercession. Intercession is simply praying on behalf of another person or situation. Even if you aren’t a part of the worship or prayer team, you have an important role in praying on their behalf. This prayer is the most powerful way you can prepare and support our church in this season.

Although the Holy Spirit does the heavy lifting, He loves to partner and include us in His plans! The Holy Spirit lives in all who have accepted the free gift of salvation through Jesus. This means that every believer has access to His power and presence. No matter who you are, you have a role to play!

When we are surrounded by others who are committed to living out this passage in Hebrews, we need to champion and join them! When we come alongside others to help further unity and fellowship within the family of Christ, we are obeying Paul’s command in Hebrews.

When we encourage them and meet needs, we can’t even imagine the impact! WPH Night gives us the opportunity to stir one another up to love and engage in good works. When we pray and encourage an individual through a difficult time, we are being the hands and feet of Jesus!

It is such an exciting thing to play a part in what the Holy Spirit is doing, but it also comes with its own difficulties. Oftentimes those who are sacrificing and devoting themselves to the will of God, tend to face intense persecution and opposition from the enemy and the world.

The impact the Holy Spirit is able to have through these willing vessels is something all of us have, to some degree, benefited from. We all have a reason to thank the Lord for these people and anyone in our Bridgeway family who has answered the Lord’s call.

Pray against the tactics and distractions of the enemy. Pray for health, energy, focus, and connection with the Lord! Pray out of a place of victory, the battle has already been won! If God gives you a tangible way to support or make a difference, answer that call! You can ask the Lord to give you direction on how to support or pray, He is your helper!

If you are one of the many individuals a part of the planning and preparation for this event, thank you! We know that it isn’t always easy to obey the call of the Lord, so we recognize your hard work and sacrifice. Thank you for all that you have poured out, it truly does make a difference.

Like the passage says, consider ways to encourage your church family! Check in with those participating in the fast alongside you. Don’t neglect your time with your community group, at classes, during services, or times of fellowship. There is so much power in choosing unity and encouragement! God has moved so much already, and we know He has more in store. Your prayers, obedience, and devotion are so valuable!

Stirring up one another to love and good works is a way in which the Lord loves his people, through his people. Lift up those in preparation for this night, and get excited! Your prayer holds power!

Listening Prayer:

Thank the Holy Spirit for living inside of you and wanting to partner with you. Ask Him to reveal the ways He is calling you to support those who are guiding us through the fast towards Worship, Prayer, and Healing Night. Pay attention to the individuals he is bringing to mind. Pay attention to the words he is giving you to pray, and the tangible methods of support.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, thank you for loving, choosing, and lifting me up. Thank you for the people you have called, and for their obedient “yes”. Thank You for Your Word and all that You’ve revealed to me through it. I repent for any ways I have looked at this fast or WPH night through a selfish lens, and I ask for you to fill me with a humble and caring heart. I pray that you would search my heart and refocus any area that isn’t aligned with your heart and will. I pray against the plans of the enemy, and ask that you would fill your people with excitement and readiness to see you move. I am expectant and ready to see all that you have in store for these last few days of the fast. Please instruct me in ways to support, encourage, and care for my brothers and sisters who are serving you. I love you, Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
