Hey, this is Pastor Brian, and I want to thank you for signing up for Bridgeway Christian Church’s Daily Advent Prayer. We are very excited about this project and think it’s going to be a beautiful way for us as a community to celebrate the Advent season. For the last several years, we have celebrated Advent with daily devotionals that we’ve invited different members of the Bridgeway community to write, and then we’ve recorded those devotionals and sent them out to you each day during the Advent season.
This year, we’re doing something a little bit different. Instead of devotionals, we are releasing different prayers every day during Advent. We’ve curated or written these prayers within the adult discipleship department, but we’ve invited different members of our community to narrate these prayers.
The idea is that you would listen and you would pray along with the person who is reading the prayer out loud. Some days we’ll focus on things like the symbols of Advent or maybe passages from the Book of Common Prayer or passages in the Old Testament about Jesus’ coming or in the New Testament about a second coming. Each day has kind of a different theme, and the hope is that we’re able to cover all sorts of different aspects of what makes Advent beautiful, and that all of us are able to connect in more deeply with the Lord during this amazing season of anticipating the celebration of Christ’s birth and preparing for his second coming.
So it is our sincere hope that these audio prayers would bless you. They’ll be released every day on the Bridgeway podcast stream on Apple Podcasts or Spotify, or if you’ve subscribed over text message, those will be delivered once a week. You’ll get all seven days.
